Cultural Identity

Indira is a project developed in the Identity and Product module at the Faculty of Industrial Design. It was inspired by the search for identity patterns in the Cesarense region, drawing on traditional techniques, customs, and rituals. This project is deeply rooted in the Cesarense community, a region we all belong to, exploring the territory and embracing the figure of the Juglar, a significant character who historically conveyed news from region to region and created Vallenato lyrics. The aim is to encourage new generations to preserve and value critical elements of their cultural heritage, fostering a sense of belonging.

Indira involves a meticulous process of preparing natural pigments derived from native plants in the region. These pigments, carefully extracted and processed, serve as essential tools for activities in a guidebook centred on the traditional Vallenato culture music.
